First Down for Downs Syndrome Auction

First Down for DS is an organization supported by the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line who reaise money and voluteer to work with kids with Down Syndrome. Each year the Down Syndrome Guild holds an auction to raise money for many of the functions they support financially. One of the largest is their prom, this year attended by 450 young adults with DS. They have silent aucitions, winoe auctions and then there is a special auction where contributors can donate just fo rthe Prom. They asked Allyssa Brubeck and Tyler Webster to come to the auction, representing all of the 450 people who attend the prom in their formal dress.

They prepared a speech and were on stage in fromt of KC dignitaries, Chief players past and present, and the upper crust of society here in KC. Let's just say they were SPECTACULAR, and they won the day, so much so that they surpassed all record donations and helped the tam raise $22,120 jsut fo rthe Prom. Allyssa was beautiful in her pink dress and tiara, looking like the princess she truly is with a smile bright as the camera lights. Tyler as you can imagine, he loved beign "onstage" and once that microphone was in his hand he was his charming self. They then worked the crowd and Allyssa hit it off with Trent Green and his wife, Tyler tried on bill Long's superbowl ring and Dick Vermeil delighted in taking pictures with them plus much more. Take a look at the great pictures snapped by: Roy Hyden, Mike Small, Cindy Small and myself.
